In September 2025, BDP was approached by the Friends of Maud Railway Museum to provide support in exploring opportunities to further develop and strengthen the museum offering.

Since then, work has commenced across several key areas, including governance arrangements, ownership of buildings through a range of potential asset transfer options, and plans for future community consultation. These discussions remain at an early stage as options are considered and priorities identified.

With new members now joining the organisation, attention will also focus on supporting trustees through the development of clear roles and responsibilities to help guide the museum’s future direction.

The museum plays an important role in attracting tourism to the area. With an established reputation and strong heritage appeal, Maud Railway Museum continues to welcome visitors from both domestic and international markets, contributing to the local visitor economy and wider community profile
