Colin Simpson:
Colin Simpson presently serves as an Aberdeenshire councillor and has been involved with BDP and BDI for many years. Prior to becoming a local councillor Colin worked as a Scientific Technician at the Rowett Research Institute, an Open University Tutor, Community Education Literacies Tutor and held Various roles with Aberdeen Foyer and Aberdeenshire Council. Colin also worked for an MSP in the office and has been involved with youth clubs for many years.
Colin became involved with BDP/ BDI through his involvement with Mintlaw and District Community Council, Buchan Community Farm and the Book of Deer Project.
Buchan Community Farm where I am a director and volunteer. Trustee of Book of Deer Project. Committee member of Buchan Field Club and member of Buchan Heritage Society, Mintlaw Walkers and Mintlaw Pensioners.(Also Lay Member of The Ethical Review Committee of The James Hutton Institute, Aberdeen.
Colin brings a wealth of experience working with communities to BDP.
Diane Tait:
Diane has lived in the North East all her life. Now retired, she was actively involved in the voluntary sector through her work as a Development Officer with BDP and Aberdeen Foyer, and is currently a member of her local Community Council and Invercairn Community Improvement Group. Diane also worked as a lecturer at Banff and Buchan College of Further Education and as a trainer in the Oil & Gas industry. Diane decided to become a volunteer with BDP as she has seen the difference reliable and appropriate support can make for communities, new start up groups or for established charities.
Diane has awareness of projects and communities within Buchan. Diane also has a vast knowledge of BDP and BDI projects and experience of project planning and delivery, funding.
Sheila Dargie:
Sheila Dargie has recently jointed BDP and BDI as a director. Sheila is retired and previously worked as a social worker. As the current chair person of the Friends of Aden Sheila became involved with BDP through her involvement in Aden Country Park.
Sheila is also the volunteer organiser of the Mintlaw Health Walks. Through her involvement with Aden Country Park Sheila has volunteered at many BDP events in the past and is a trained first aider.
